After You Register Your Cyprus Company: The Digital Launch Checklist

Formation guides stop at the certificate. This one starts there, with the order to set up your domain, email, website and Google presence so the company looks real to customers and banks.

Short answer

After you start a business in Cyprus, build your digital base in this order: domain, professional email, a small website with your legal details, a Google Business Profile, then a way to capture enquiries. A target of 30 days is realistic. The order matters, because a Cyprus bank may ask for website data as evidence of real activity.

The 30-day launch order

Do the jobs in this sequence, because each one depends on the one before. Thirty days is our suggested target for a small company with its content ready, and it can stretch if you are waiting on a designer or on Google's verification.

When Job Why it comes here Done when
Day 1 Register the domain Everything else uses it, and names disappear The company owns it, in its own account
Days 1 to 3 Set up email on the domain Banks, suppliers and tax contacts need an address that matches your company No personal email on any document
Days 3 to 14 Publish a small website Your first public proof of what the company does Services, contact and legal details are live
Days 7 to 21 Create a Google Business Profile Local customers look here first, and it needs a truthful address Profile verified
Days 14 to 30 Set up enquiry handling A profile with nobody answering wastes the traffic Every enquiry reaches a person the same day
Day 30 onward Start search work Works better on a live site with real services Pages planned around what people search for

The rest of this page takes each job in turn. It assumes your certificate of incorporation is already in hand.

Why a bank cares about your website

This is the part of a launch that most founders treat as marketing and most compliance officers treat as evidence. The Central Bank of Cyprus directive on money laundering describes how banks must assess shell companies. It lists the evidence a bank collects to substantiate activity, and "data for maintaining a business website, online shops or other public sales points" appears on that list, next to contracts, tax returns and details of customers.

So a website cannot get you an account, and no one can promise you one. It does give a compliance officer something to check. A company with a working domain, a real address, named services and a matching email looks different from one with a certificate and nothing else. Launching before you apply makes your bank application easier to support.

Domain and email

Buy the domain on day one, in the company's name and through an account you control. Registry .cy, which is run by the University of Cyprus, lists prices of EUR 20 for one year, EUR 30 for two and EUR 50 for five per domain (checked November 2026). Whether you need a .cy, a .com or both depends on where your customers are, and our .cy or .com comparison gives you a rule for that.

Set up email on the same day. Use role addresses such as accounts@ and info@ alongside named ones, so the company keeps its mail when people change. Put this address on your bank forms, your tax registration and your invoices from the start.

What a first website must show

Five or six pages are enough to begin: home, services, about, contact, and the legal pages. Founders usually get the design right and forget the legal identity. Article 5 of the EU e-commerce directive requires an online service provider to make this information easy to find and permanently available.

  • The company's name.
  • The geographic address where it is established.
  • Contact details, including an email address, that let people reach you quickly.
  • The trade register and the registration number. For a Cyprus company, that is the Registrar of Companies and your company number.
  • The supervisory authority, if your activity needs an authorisation.
  • Your VAT number, if you are VAT registered.

Put this in the footer or on a legal notice page, and read our notes on GDPR for Cyprus business websites before you add a contact form or analytics. If you would like this built for you alongside the formation, our web design service covers it.

Google Business Profile: the registered office trap

Do not simply enter your registered office. This is the most common mismatch between company formation and local search. Your registered office only has to be an address in Cyprus, and it is often a lawyer's or provider's office. Google's rules are stricter. They say:

  • Virtual offices are not eligible.
  • PO boxes and remote mailboxes are not acceptable.
  • A co-working office qualifies only with clear signage, customers received during business hours, and your own staff there during those hours.

If customers do not come to you, use a service-area profile with the address hidden. Your business name on the profile should match your real-world name. Google also warns against adding legal terms unless you can show them on real signage, invoices or cards, so check that before you copy the full company name across. Our guide to getting on Google Maps in Cyprus walks through setup and verification.

Decide who answers before you start asking for attention. Pick one inbox, one phone number and a same-day reply rule. If you take enquiries out of hours, automated lead follow-up can hold the conversation until a person takes over.

Search can then start to work for you. In our October 2026 keyword data, Cypriot searchers look for suppliers by need: about 880 Google searches a month for "accountants in cyprus", 590 for "web design cyprus", and 260 for "law firms in cyprus". Answers are changing too. In our October 2026 sample of 33 results pages chosen around our own topics, Google AI Overviews appeared on all 33. That is a small sample, so read it as a direction and not as a market rate. Plan for a site that both ranks and gets quoted, which is what our SEO service is built around.

Your own launch list

Copy this into your own notes and work down it.

  • Domain registered in the company's name
  • Email live on that domain
  • Website published with name, address, email, register, number and VAT number
  • Privacy notice and cookie handling in place
  • Google Business Profile created with a truthful address or service area
  • Same-day reply rule agreed and owner named
  • Certified company documents saved where the team can find them

If you are planning a regulated business, such as a prop firm or a broker, add a compliance review before anything goes live. Otherwise, the next step is the first line on the list. Register the domain today, and if you want help with the online side, see our company launch service. Legal work stays with your lawyer.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cyprus a good place to start a business?

It can be if the business will really operate here or you will really live here. The corporate tax rate is 15%, and you get an EU base. It works less well as an address with nothing behind it, because banks and tax authorities test for substance.

How do I start a business in Cyprus as a foreigner?

Form the company through a Cyprus lawyer, get a tax number, report your beneficial owners, and apply to a bank. Owning a company does not give you a right to live here, so non-EU founders need a separate permit before moving.

How do I start a website for a small business in Cyprus?

Buy the domain in the company's name, set up email on it, then publish a small site with your services, contact details and legal identity. Five or six pages is enough to begin. Add depth once you know what customers ask.

Can I use my registered office on Google Business Profile?

Usually not if it is only a lawyer's or provider's address. Google says virtual offices are not eligible, and an address needs to be somewhere you actually serve customers. A business that visits customers can use a service-area profile instead.

How much does it cost to form a company in Cyprus and get online?

Official formation fees total EUR 175. A .cy domain is listed at EUR 20 a year by the registry. Legal work, email and the website are priced by providers, and we quote the combined job in writing.
