Web Design in Paphos
A Paphos customer is often still at home when they first meet your website. The site has to work for someone who has not arrived yet.
Short answer
Web design in Paphos should be built for visitors who are not in Paphos yet. In 2024, 31.5% of tourists stayed in the Paphos district, the largest share, and in July 2025 UK passengers made up 46% of Paphos airport traffic. That points to English-first sites, strong mobile speed and direct-booking or enquiry paths.
Your customer is not in Paphos yet
For most Paphos businesses, the first visit to the website happens somewhere else: a living room in the UK, an office in Tel Aviv, a phone in Warsaw. The site is your shop window during the planning stage, and it has to answer the questions that decide the trip or the purchase.
The tourism data shows how Paphos differs from the rest of the island. In 2024, 31.5% of tourists reported staying in the Paphos district, the largest share, ahead of Ayia Napa at 15.9%, Larnaca at 14.2% and Limassol at 12.4%. In July 2025, UK passengers made up 46% of traffic at Paphos airport against 19% at Larnaca. And the 2021 census found that 40% of Paphos district residents held foreign citizenship, the highest of any district.
So a Paphos site often serves visitors and a notably international resident population at once. Do not assume they all read English: check your own enquiry and booking records. Search demand for the local phrase is small (about 50 Google searches a month for "web design paphos" in our October 2026 data), which is another reason to design for the people who find you through maps, platforms and word of mouth.
Three Paphos business types, three different sites
| Business | The visitor's question | What the site must do | What to avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel, villa or apartment rental | Is it right for my dates, and can I trust the booking? | Real photos, a live availability or enquiry route, clear cancellation terms, a map of what is nearby | Hiding the price until the last step |
| Estate agent or developer | Is this area, this project and this seller reliable? | Listings with status and price, area pages, a plain explanation of the process, enquiry capture by country and language | Stock images and outdated listings |
| Restaurants, activities, services for residents and visitors | Are they open, how do I get there, can I book? | Hours, menu or activity details, map, phone, WhatsApp, seasonal updates | PDF menus and a contact form with no phone number |
Seasonality changes the build
Paphos trade moves in waves. A site that is accurate in July can mislead in January. Build a simple way for staff to update opening hours, seasonal menus and availability without calling a developer, and set a calendar reminder to check them before each season. The same applies to property: a listing marked available that has sold costs more in lost trust than the page earns.
Mobile speed matters because people planning a trip often browse on phones. Google's targets are a largest contentful paint of 2.5 seconds or less and a layout shift of 0.1 or less, measured on real visits.
Direct booking: a worked example
A villa owner in the Paphos district earns EUR 150 a night for 100 nights a year, so EUR 15,000 of bookings. Suppose, for illustration only, that a booking platform takes 15% commission. That is EUR 2,250 a year. Check your own platform's rate, because it varies by platform and agreement. If a direct-booking site costs EUR 4,000 to build and you moved a third of your nights to it, the commission saved would be EUR 750 a year, so the build would take over five years to repay on those numbers. Move all your nights and it pays back in under two years.
The sums explain the usual outcome. For most small properties the direct site complements the platforms and brings repeat guests, and it rarely replaces them. Run the numbers with your own occupancy, rates and commission before you commission a booking system.
Languages: choose by market, not by flag
Start with English. In 2025, UK visitors made up 31.8% of tourist arrivals in Cyprus, followed by Israel at 13.0%, Poland at 8.2%, Germany at 6.1% and Greece at 3.9%. That ranking tells you where interest comes from, not where your own customers come from. Check your booking or enquiry records before paying for translations.
Give each language its own URLs and a visible switch, as Google recommends, and do not redirect automatically by language. A language you cannot keep current is worse than none.
How we work with Paphos businesses
Sempor Labs is based in Limassol, with no office in Paphos. We work with Paphos businesses remotely, by video call and email, which suits clients whose own customers are remote too. Our quote is in writing.
For hotels and rentals, read hotel website design. For agents and developers, read marketing for real estate agents and developers in Cyprus. Whatever you sell, set up your Google Maps listing first, since that is where many local visitors will find you. Talk to us about the build on the web design page.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a web design for a Paphos hotel or villa rental?
One web studio based outside Cyprus estimated in October 2026 that freelancers in Cyprus charge about EUR 1,200 to 4,500 and local agencies EUR 4,000 to 18,000 and up for a professional firm's website. It calls these ballparks, not official figures, and it sells websites itself. Booking engines and extra languages move the price up.
What is a web design example for a Paphos property agent?
As an illustration, an agent site needs listings with clear status and prices, area guides, enquiry forms that capture the buyer's country and language, and pages that explain the buying process in plain terms.
Which languages should a Paphos business website offer?
Start with English, since UK visitors made up 31.8% of tourist arrivals in Cyprus in 2025. Add the languages of your own best markets only when someone can write and maintain them. Give each language its own URLs.
Is it worth building a direct booking site instead of using booking platforms?
It can be, if you can handle enquiries and payments yourself and will promote the site. For many small properties a direct site complements platforms rather than replacing them. Compare your real platform fees against build and running costs.
